LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Lakers star Kobe Bryant finally tied the knot.
Bryant married fiancee Vanessa Laine of Huntington Beach in a private ceremony Wednesday afternoon at St. Edward Roman Catholic Church in Dana Point.
He broke the news to his Lakers teammates before Thursday's practice.
The marriage, following days of speculation, was reported Thursday night by KABC-TV and in The Orange County Register on Friday.
The service took place under a heart-shaped arch with red rose petals strewn on the floor, the Register said.
Laine wore a full-length white dress with a long train and veil. Bryant opted for a dark suit instead of a tuxedo.
About a dozen people were present.
Bryant, 22, got engaged to Laine, then an 18-year-old student at Marina High in Huntington Beach, during last season's playoffs.
He is sporting a diamond-studded silver band on his left ring finger.
