But let's talk about the US. I volunteer at a divorce recovery seminar, and I am always surprised when the statistic of 1 out of every 4 females has been sexually molested or raped by the age of 18, while 1 out of every 12 males has been sexually molested or raped by the age of 18. When I question it, there are always those who will make me understand that the statistic works.

That statistic is really skewed. I'm taking a class that does a lot of work with public opinion right now, and some of the things that were included in that study were really bogus. For example, say I went to a movie with a boy, kissed him, and regretted it later. He "molested" me according to some of the questions that were used. I'll ask my professor next week to get me some more of the stats on that.
