Men and women who have held onto their virginity may feel their choice to remain abstinent is under attack, and that there is something wrong with them for choosing not to "surrender" to this prevalant notion that participating in sexual activity is a sign of emotional maturity and a stepping stone to social acceptance...

There's nothing wrong with being proud of it....It's when it's held up as some sort of proof of moral superiority that it can become a bit grating to some...
