I was really well-known in school. I was on the TV show, and was the spirit coordinator (don't ask, it sounds so stupid now). So, everyone basically knew who I was. My groups of friends were primarily in the "in crowd," but since I was so politically and culturally different from them, I didn't have anyone within that group I could consider my best friends. I can honestly say, though, that I had friends from every "group."
Not that it really matters, though. Like people said, who you were in HS isn't shit. I have better friends now that I graduated from college, and don't talk to almost anyone from high school (in fact, my very best friend, whom I still keep in touch, transferred out our freshman year).
