This thread really made me think.
What is your opinion regarding the actions of a chapter of a sorority relative to the life of the overall organization?
I know at times we may have looked at our EO as the "big, bad wolf" for not letting us have an out-of-town date party, or not being able to have scavenger hunts, etc., but have you ever stopped to think about this-- how each chapter of the sorority acts as a "branch" with the Grand Coucil and EO acting as the "tree trunk and roots" that connect us to one another... How can the trunk and the roots survive if the leaves and flowers on each branch (the members!) are acting in discord, and what will happen to the overall organization if each chapter is not in accordance with the org's policies and procedures? If too many leaves fall far from the tree, and too many branches rot away and break off, what good are the trunk and the roots? And what will become of the few branches that remain?
