You have to keep in mind though, that no-contact rules vary widely from school to school. There are schools where you can't even talk to your little sister until rush is over if she's a rushee and you're in a sorority . . . and on the other end of the spectrum, there are schools that have very little in the way of no-contact rules at all.
I think all the points that have been brought up in this thread are great, though. Sometimes we get too excited about the benefits of Greek life that we forget to be realistic ourselves.
