I read a behind the scenes article about Trading Spaces a while ago. They actually take three to four days to do each room, not the two days shown on TV. and most of the work is actually not done by those on camera. They have two complete sets of carpenters who do most of the work. The on screen talent shows up for filming. If you've noticed, the designers seem to be wearing the exact same outfits for both days, this is due to the editing. Only the final revealing is really real. The rest of the time they are faking it. And as for designers, the one guy (I can't remember his name but it isn't the Asian fellow) who is always ornery, he is supposed to be that way. He was interveiwed and he said that his role is to be the antagonist and kind of give them what they *don't* want.

And some people are REALLY unhappy with the results (but please! like anything made of fiber board or painted sofa fabric or god forbid anything remotely made by Ikea) is going to be top quality....
