I don't agree with that...I think back to the last couple months of my senior year. My sister and I kept avoiding going to the career placement office...I was waiting for my scope to dump his skanky girlfriend for me...and senior walk was coming up. We did receive info about alum involvement at a meeting, but I am pretty sure it got pitched...I wasn't in any way ready to think of myself as an alumna. I was enjoying sisterhood in the now.
OK, 6 months later. I've boomaranged back to my parents' house, 150 miles away from my best friends in the world, and am working a job that is boring, to say the least. I think I would have dissolved in tears of joy/gratitude to receive something from ASA nationals telling me how I as a new alumna could get involved. I was open and receptive to it then, where I hadn't been earlier.
I know everyone has different perspectives but this was mine...I doubt I was the only one who felt this way.
