Moxie-I totally hear you about the dues thing. I work full time right now, and live on my own. Thankfully I got a scholarship for school, and I will probably use my loan $$ to pay for dues, but you should see if your houses have payment plans. I've heard some of these great GC girls talk about that, and that's what I was planning on doing until I found out about my scholarship.
The average for your first year here (living in-town) is about $2600. I personally don't have that just lying around. I don't know if it's okay to talk about money during your rush (as far as dues and such) but if you can, ask the houses if they allow payment plans.
