The DFW area seems to have dodged a bullet so far (except for a couple of nasty hailstorms last month), but according to the weather-guessers we might be in for some severe sh*t storms later this afternoon or this evening.

Plano has a pretty good emergency siren system; during tornado season, it's tested at least once a week, and blurts out a LOUD recording calling "TEST, TEST". It worked real well the night of the big hailstorm that rolled through Plano. No warning siren since it was a severe thunderstorm warning, but it called out "THUNDERSTORM WARNING" several times shortly before the bottom fell outta the sky.
