Discogoddess, I'm with you, I do not pretend to be a biblical scholar.
Sweet Deliverance
I just want to say that "properous" doesn't necessarily have to be referring to finances.
Mary gave birth to baby JESUS in a manger, a nasty, funky, stank manger, where animals had been deficating, but she and Joseph were extremely blessed, and highly favored of God.
Moses had absolutely nothing when he left pharoah's palace. He didn't even know who he was, because he had been lied to all of his life. Yet, he was chosen of God to lead the Israelites.
Job was HIGHLY favored of God. God called Job his friend ( we talked about how deep that was in Hour of Power), yet, to prove a point, God removed all of Job's wealth, and turned his life upside down. Job was a FRIEND of God's, yet he was in financial ruins.
In my humble opinion, prosperity, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
