Talking NBA "Small world" funny story

This is so funny. God it’s a small world. OK, anybody who follows the Spurs, or the NBA playoffs, knows who Bruce Bowen is. He has really shined during this series against LA. Anyway, it just so happens that Mr Bowen is finishing his degree at UTSA. Now UTSA is a big school, so I can understand how he can get lost in the crowd. (Tim Duncan’s wife also graduated from UTSA.) anyway, I know a few people who have had a class with Bruce. This is where it gets funny…

At the beginning of the semester, he goes to his professor in the class that my friend had with him and Bruce tells his professor (who doesnt knwo who he is), “Um, I might have to miss a lot of class because of my job.” And their professor (political science class) says, “Well, I wish that weren’t the case, but I understand. Is their anyway your boss will reduce your travel schedule? And Bruce says, “not likely in our line of work.” So the professor says, “Well, ok. Just bring me a note from your boss telling me what’s up and we’ll work something out.” The next class meeting, Bruce brings the note to the professor. The professor briefly looks over it and says ok, not a problem and puts the note away.

The professor was cool with it and at towards the end of the semester, the professor ends up at a Spurs game and recognizes #12 as one of her students. When she got back to her office the next day, she pulled out the note and it read, “Please allow Bruce Bowen to miss occasional class meetings. Due to his work schedule, frequent travel is necessary. I will make sure he completes his assignments and stays current in class. Should you have any problems, please feel free to contact me. Signed, Gregg Popovich, San Antonio Spurs General Manager and Coach.”

Hahahahahahhaha.
