Ladies............i have been reading your post with regards to losing weight. as a nutritionist (MS) alot of what you all say your are doing is incorrect. first, you don't want to diet --you want to make healthy choices ex if you want to do pretzels or popcorn instead of chips,or fig newtons instead of chips ahoy. the atkins diet has alot of ramifications because it is high protein and too much protein causes you to excrete protein in your urine which later almost always (90% of the time)causes problems with your kidneys which puts you at risk for alot of other medical problems. things like metabolite and creatine causes your body to work harder than it has to, which also causes pre mature aging internally. lastly, the low carb diet is ok but you need carbs for energy, so you do not want to go too low. also the doctors only take one class in nutrition and their focus is on treatment. whereas the nutritionsit and/or dietitian speacializes in nutrition and our focus is on pevention. just make sure that if you get advice on any aspect of nutrition that the person has either an RD, MS or PHD behind their name. if anyone wants or needs any info i'm at crystal@flower.aud.temple.edu
there is a cite for figure out the max protein, fat, carb and kcal per day, its
www.cyberdiet.com click on nutritional assessment. i hope that this was useful.
just remember you are only suppose to lose 1-2 lbs per week if you want to keep it off.
also make sure that you are excersing 30 min at least 3x weekly. walking is good also but you need to do it an hour each time. good luck with your weight management
