I had it when I was 15-16 (had it for my Sweet 16, oh fun), and I had a pretty mild case. I wasn't tired, I just had the sore throat from hell and a fever. I stayed home for a week but I was better by the 2nd day. I was absolutely bored out of mind and was begging my parents to let me go back to school (how sad is that?).
I was kind of bad and went roller blading a lot when I had it, but I stayed away from soccer and lifting heavy stuff for 2 months. Some people just don't have it all that bad.
