House Corps. / Alumni Assoc.

As an active alumni in my chapter, I am sitting on our House Corp. board (legally registered with the state, has officers, budget, board members...etc). We are tossing around the idea of having a legal "Alumni Association", also to be registered with the state, with officers, board members, a budget...etc. Currently, we have a House Corp. which basically acts as an Alumni Association, however, our basic goal for the House Corp. is only that: a house.

That being said, do any of you serve on a House Corp. board, or and Alumni Association board? If so, do you have both a House Corp. and an Alumni Association, or just one? If you have both, how do they interact with each other, or do they stay completely seperate? (EX, House Corp. focuses solely on the house and nothing more, and the Alumn. Assoc. focuses on everything else - Alumni Outings, Scholarships, memorial donations...etc.)

What are your thoughts for my situation? Do we create another entity as we grow, or stay the same?

Any info. would be helpful.
