Frat Daze/Tha Brotherhood by Big Walt
OK, I finally rented the movie that has supposedly pissed off a lot of Greeks:
"Tha Brotherhood", originally marketed as "Frat Daze", produced, written, and directed by Walter "Big Walt" Anderson.
To say the least, it was DEFINATELY low budget, as if someone had shot it with a plain camcorder. I don't think it even had a script, as it seemed that everything was ad-libbed. And of course, the emphasis was on hazing in BGLOs.
Basically, it was about a pledge who falls asleep in Professor Big Walt's chemistry class. He gets called out in it and explains that he lost a lot of sleep b/c he is pledging. Well, Big Walt tells him a flashback story of his pledging experience back in 1992, when he pledged the Beta Phi Phi Fraternity.
Well, the rest of the movie was pretty predictable; the pledges get beat on hard, and one of the pledges dies. After the story, the student listening to the story realizes he is late for a frat "set" and runs out of the classroom to the BPP house, only to get struck by a black and white cane for his tardiness. A poem is read, and the credits roll to some over-dramatized music.
As an added bonus, the DVD contained another real(?) pledge documentary of four brothers pledging Phi Psi Phi Fraternity at a Texas university, with interviews by other BGLO males.
This movie fell kinda flat, quite frankly.
View @ your own risk.
