) If your formal is around the time when high schools have their prom, it might be hard to find a tux (if that is the dressing norm. for your formal) at the last minute.
on the topic of dresses, do any girls in your chapters wear ball gowns (as opposed to A-line, or any other type of gowns)? I found this GORGEOUS dress, but I don't want to go too overboard for formal this year (is there such a thing?
