Being that I quit my non-career related job almost two weeks ago, I have been actively seeking work via temp agency (what a waste of time
), the career center at school, career websites i.e. hotjobs, monster, etc..and so forth. Well I came across a job listing that I felt good about so I edited the resume a bit and e-mailed it to the company. It took that company less than 5 minutes to call me on my cell phone to set up an interview! I was absolutely floored! The company is based in another state and we (the woman who called me) set up a phone interview and my guess is if I do well (which I will—I’m a Sigma Gamma Rho Woman!
) I will interview with a rep in my area! I'm so excited because this is in my career field. I've been waiting for an opportunity like this for so long. Wish me luck!
FYI
1. Yes, I have been going crazy being out of work for almost 2 weeks now but since we're in finals, I'm busy anyway.
2. The temp agency thing....This chick called me, mind you AFTER I told her I wouldn't accept any jobs that pay lower than $12.00 per hour, and tells me she has a job for me....(dramatic pause) that pays $7.00 per hour.
I had to think quickly weather or not I should curse her out or politely decline the 2-day position. I chose to VEERRRY politely to decline the job.....
If I could have kicked her in her teeth...
