Cool

Eating contests have NOTHING to do with our organizations...unless your fundamental principles include GLUTTONY. Now, I think chapters should be held partially responsible for any consequences of the actions of big brothers and big sisters. If a pledge goes to the hospital after an eating contest--it's a direct result of the eating contest. The UNDERLYING CAUSE is the eating disorder, though. If the chapter was unaware of the eating disorder, that should be taken into consideration. An analogy (maybe a bad one) would be a pledge that has a clogged artery and participates in a scavenger hunt when "on line." Who would've known the pledge had a clogged artery...had the chapter've known...the pledge wouldn't have been participating. I know this goes off of the eating disorder topic, but it is meant to address the question asked by AKA re: chapter responsibility.
