at my school i saw an "italian wedding." it wasn't my sorority, though. the week before, the groom was nominated by his fraternity. he chose some girl (just a friend) to be the bride, and the rest of the wedding party was informally chosen. someone was nominated to be the priest.
the night of the party began like any regular college kegger, but the girls were wearing thrift store prom dresses and the guys were just random. when planning an italian wedding it is key to hold off on the ceremony until everyone is very drunk. they stopped the dj and the wedding ceremony began. the priest says a funny (made up on the spot) speech, and they go through the motions of the wedding. it is seriously rowdy and loud. it was a really fun mixer.
