Smile The Best Pearl Ideas I've Come Across

[FONT=times new roman][COLOR=red]I'm the MDA for W. PA (region 9) and will eventually be pinch hitting for I think region 6 (I might be wrong!)... and as I have been going through my reports I realized that some of my Chapters have just excellent Pearl Ideas I wanted to share with the rest of you to recommend to your Chapters!

SERVICE: One of my Chapters are going to a Senior Citizen's home and doing manicures on the elderly women.

Another Chapter goes to the local human society and helps out by dog walking and giving the animals some attention.

SISTERHOOD: Theme Nights: A Chapter picks a theme in advance like "Mexican" or "Greece [can be Grease if you are in a smaller college town and can't get Greek foods; there are Mickey-D's eveyrwhere]) or "Oktoberfest" where they have a corresponding meal and watch a movie; the PHi Gamma Chapter used to do this on Thurs. and watch Friends and Survivor together aftewards.

I have one Chapter where they all watch Days of Our Lives together and get a Sisterhood Pearl. For those of us who are over 21, i can send you instructions on how to play "Drinking Days." (i.e. every time Marlena get possessed you have to drink, every time Sami murders someone you have to drink)

SOCIAL: Have dinner with another sorority; this is good PR and a good way to meet new people; and it really helps build a sense of Greek Community.

SCHOLARSHIP: If you have alumni in the area, have an evening where you invite a professional from your Chapter to come in and talk about her field; this helps your Chapters get a sense of what the job market is like and a chance to meet some alumni. This is especially beneficial to your graduating seniors. In addition, consider having someone from Career Services come in and hold a 'resume' workshop to help Sister's get their resumes ready for the 'real world.'

These are just some fun and different ideas you might want to try/suggest to your Chapters. ANy ohter ideas? Please share them, I am always looking!

Kristen
