Okay, so this one will be a little different than the other Rush threads from everyone else...maybe a little less exciting...but I'm sure looking forward to it! My name is CJ and I'm getting ready to go through recruitment for the Delta Gamma Colony starting at North Carolina State University! I was thrilled last year when I learned that DG was going to colonize at NCSU. My mom is an Eta DG and I've heard about what an amazing time she had through the fraternity. I've been waiting since the beginning of the school year to start the process and it starts tonight with an information session. Tomorrow will be one on one interviews, Thursday will be a Pref Party, and Friday bids will be extended.
Although I am very excited about recruitment, I have to say that I have some very bad news as well. My mom, who two weeks ago officially beat breast cancer, was told yesterday that her cancer has spread to her liver, lungs, and spine. And there simply isn't much we can do. Statistically, patients in this situation have less than two years. Which tears me apart. But I know that it means a lot to her (and a lot to me) to go through the recruitment. If I was to get a bid, it is something very special we could share together...
But enough of this stuff, I'm starting to cry! Wish me luck on the meeting tonight, the head of the DG Extention Board has contacted me and has asked me to introduce myself tonight since my mom filled out a legacy form. So I am excited about that. It should be a lot of fun! I'll let you know how things go later tonight! And tomorrow...and the next day!!
Saying a few prayers,
CJ
