Yes, Omega Psi Phi is experiencing a renaissance of sorts and the use of technology has played an integral role in this renewal. Until the inauguration of the adminstration of Dr. David Marion, the 41st Grand Basileus, in 2018, the IT infrastructure of the Fraternity was woefully lacking due to lack of investment, etc. One of the first things GB Marion did was call a Technology Summit and empowered the re-constituted Technology Committee. A watershed moment that signalled positive change which energized the Brotherhood was the 82nd Grand Conclave in 2020, which was virtual due to the pandemic. It was a full conclave with all the plenary sessions, elections, programs, including a Virtual Founders Banquet broadcast from the Auditorium at the Omega World Center in Decatur, GA. More than 3000 brothers from all over the world registered. It was over 20 hours of virtual programming. The Technology/Operations Team carried out a hercuean task in organizing and implementing this meeting. Bro. Robert Scott III, an IT employee at IHQ and a self-avowed "techie" had to develop some processes to solve some of the issues to make things happen. For his efforts, he was awarded the International Graduate Omega Man of the Year Award the following year.
The Charlotte Grand Conclave in 2022 was the largest in history with about 7000 brothers registered. It was a grand event and occasion with public programs, a youth leadership conference, youth STEM events, social action projects in the Charlotte area and more.
