University of South Carolina - Recs

I have a friend who is preparing to go through Recruitment at the Univ of South Carolina this August. On the PNM website, we see an option for uploading general letters of rec that can be shared with any chapter.


Am I correct to assume this kind of rec, while maybe helpful, should not replace the traditional letters of rec submitted by the alums to their individual chapters on the PNM's behalf?
