Ranking sessions are when you meet with your group and you get a scantron and decide out of whom you've been invited back to where you're going to go. It's done after every round. You all just sit quietly while you fill them out, and that's it. It's not made public who you chose.
The way it works is that when you get to the room you are given a list of who invited you back for the next round and if you have more invites than the number of parties you have to cut. If you have just enough or less than the number of parties you go to them all.
Then the next day when it's time for the new round your Pi Chi gives you your schedule which shows who you chose and who chose you.
The door decorations you see are put up for girls after Bid Day to welcome them to the sorority. Alpha Chi has lyres, Theta has twin stars, Pi Phi has a heart with angel wings, etc. I didn't get mine last year and thought it was because I had an apartment, but my big swears she put it up. I guess it was some mean-spirited person who saw it and tore it down since my apt. was on the first floor and visible from the parking lot.
So this year I'm going to make one for myself to make up for it.
