I just read the whole thread and the book White Teeth by Zadie Smith was not mentioned by any one. Has anyone read this book. I thought the book was fabulous. It's about 3 families, (Indian, Jewish and mixed Black and White) and their interactions in a London suburb. The characters are crazy and extreme (which I loved), the story is great and the ending is great. The book also crtitiques colonialism, neocolonialism and race relations. From the people who I've talked to about the book I have come to the conclusion that you either love it or you hate it. I recommend this book to anyone though, it's an enjoyable read!
