Distribute your packets late Spring semester and try to have them sent in by your rec writers by early summer (June).
Yes - black dresses are the norm for prefs.
If you know any girls who are already in sororities at UGA, let them know that you are going through recruitment and that you are open-minded (which I hope you are) and excited about getting a bid! Work on conversation skills so you don't struggle especially during the early rounds when everyone talks about the same sort of things. Be the girl who is easy and fun to talk to not the one with the dead end answers.
Show off your fun, happy self, but don't do anything to call attention to yourself in weird way. You don't want to be "The Girl with the ..... (strange hat, cat purse, denim jumpsuit...) You get it.
Most important - have fun. It shows.
