Questions about rushing as a junior/senior?

Right now I'm a second year junior. I'm a junior because I have AP credits and summer credits. I identify more with being a sophomore because it's only my 2nd year in college and I plan on staying all four years. Okay, I went to informal recruitment for one sorority and really loved it. I did not receive a bid so I want to try again next semester during formal recruitment. I believe even though I did not receive a bid for the sorority, formal recruitment will give me the opportunity to try experience all the sororities. My question is what can I do to up my chances at getting into a sorority next fall? I really want to be a part of the Greek life but don't know what would make me an ideal candidate? What are my chances at getting in? I believe there are 12 panhellenic sororities on campus. What sororities in general look for in older rushees? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Honestly, I did not rush freshman year because I was scared and I didn't know where I would get the money. I did not rush fall of this year because I was involved with 3 leadership positions, a job, and a very time consuming class. It was also not until after rush that I started considering rushing. It seemed everyone I met and got along with belonged to a sorority. Then when my friend invited to go to her sorority's recruitment, I fell in love. What are good reasons to say I put off rushing?
