A Harry Potter Recruitment

Hi everyone!

Here's a little bit of my story:
I rushed as a freshman and accepted a bid. I ended up depledging before initiation due to personal problems and trouble adjusting to college. After finding myself it was time to go through recruitment again.

I'll try to post an update everyday.

At my school there are five sororities:

Harry Potter
Luna Lovegood
Ron Weasley
Hermione Granger
Draco Malfoy


On sisterhood rounds we traveled to each house for thirty minute parties with our Rho Gamma groups.

First stop was Hermione Granger- This was one of the houses that cut me after sisterhood rounds the year before, so I was not expecting much when I walked in. I was actually really surprised. I had great conversations with the girls I talked to, and there weren't nearly as many awkward pauses as there were the year before. I left this house thinking I wouldn't mind to get asked back this year.

Second Stop was Ron Weasley-This was one of the houses that I prefed last year, so I was really excited to go back. I LOVED the girls I talked to and felt like I could be myself and be sarcastic. The party felt pretty short and I left hoping I would get asked back.

Third stop was Harry Potter- I had a couple of friends in this house. It was a house I low ranked the year before, but I was interested to give it a fresh look. I talked to a girl that lived on my floor the year before and a couple of other people I had a lot in common with. I hoped to get asked back.

Fourth stop was Draco Malfoy- This was my least favorite house the year before and it didn't have a great reputation so I was not exactly looking forward to this house. When I was there I was picked up by a girl I was friends with in high school and I talked to her and another girl that was actually pretty nice. She told me how she had similar problems to mine the year before and they worked with her and let her initiate in the spring. While I don't anticipate having any problems this semester, the fact that they were so willing to work with her really spoke to me.

Fifth stop was Luna Lovegood- This was my house the year before, and I was very nervous to go back. I left on very good terms, but I still didn't know how they felt about me. It ended up being a pretty awkward party. They double rushed, so they directed all of their questions at the girl they didn't know leaving me awkwardly silent most of the party. Going into recruitment I had hoped to go back to this house, but after tonight I wasn't so sure.


We had to go and "rank" our choices. The next party is philanthropy and we can get invited back to a max of four.

At this point I don't have a ranking set up in my head, but it's sort of like this.
