In a weird place regarding rec letters
First of all, I'm trying to do informal recruitment this fall but I don't know college graduates who are in a sorority. Zip. Nada. Zero.
So that means I should've been extra prepared about my recommendation letters, right?
Well, I have an explanation. I called the Office of Greek Life at my school and they said that they would wait until next week to announce who would be doing recruitment this semester. So I have no idea who will actually be taking up members right now.
I do suspect that one sorority will be participating based on some info I found recently, so I went ahead and made the call to the national headquarters and asked to see if there are any alumnae in my area. The woman on the line said she would send an email regarding this. She said I should call back on Monday if I didn't hear back.
Now I'm kinda worried that things won't come in on time, so I want to ask the recruitment chair if there are any alumnae in the area and have my parents pick me up from school to meet them. (I'm a local) On the other hand, I don't want to sound presumptuous or make a bad move by assuming that they are doing recruitment this semester.
What should I do? Should I make a move or just wait for a call back?
