It totally depends on the campus and the sorority. It will almost certainly be much lower key than formal rush, which may be a good thing for your daughter. It sounds like she may benefit from having a less structured way to meet the sororities and have them meet her. Typically, COB activities will be much more informal. Instead of a 45 minutes party where she systematically meets 3 sisters for 15 minutes each and they stand around and talk about majors, she may go watch a movie, play boardgames, or do homemade mani/pedis. It's more like hanging out at the house with the sisters and less like an interview (BUT OF COURSE IT IS STILL BASICALLY AN INTERVIEW). She may find she likes some of the houses she didn't see herself in, once she is outside of the Formal Recruitment Machine. Many houses that don't do well in FR really thrive at COB, and your daughter may too. No, there won't probably won't be a screaming run to the house, but there probably will be some sort of celebration and ritual for the COB members. It's a different experience, not one that's better or worse.
