SEC Recruitment 2012
My daughter is going through formal recruitment in the SEC, along with her roommates. I will tell her recruitment story as it happens, using SEC schools. It just so happens that the number of SEC schools matches the number of formal recruitment sororities.
She went into recruitment with an open mind, but had a few preconceived notions about the sororities. So just for fun, she ranked her overall top 8 just to see how much they changed after she met them. Here is her pre-rush rank: (1) Missouri (2) Alabama (3) Auburn (4) Georgia (5) South Carolina (6) Mississippi State (7) Vanderbilt (8) Florida.
Day 1 she attended socials with 8 of these schools. Here is her rank of the top 4 of the 8 that she met Day 1: (1) Alabama (2) Missouri (3) South Carolina (4) Vanderbilt. The other 4 that she met Day 1, in no particular order, were Kentucky, LSU, Texas A&M, and Florida.
Roommate #1 went into recruitment thinking that South Carolina would be her top pick, but she is going in with an open mind. After Day 1, roommate #1's favorites are Missouri then South Carolina. Roommate #2 really liked Alabama then Missouri.
Day 2 they met Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Auburn, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss. Out of these, her favorites were Mississippi State and Auburn.
So after meeting all of the sororities, her top 5 were (1) Alabama (2) Missouri (3) Mississippi State (4) Auburn (5) South Carolina. Roommate #1's tops were Missouri & Mississippi State. Roommate #2's were Alabama & Missouri. Roommate #3's were Texas A&M, Mississippi State, and Auburn.
The morning of Day 3, my daughter was cut by Texas A&M and Tennessee. She cut LSU, so she is down to 11 for Day 3.
