Gosh, that is surprising. How would that work? Virtually every chapter that I'm familiar with (at Arizona and elsewhere) initiates within six-eight weeks of pledging/bid acceptance, and AFAIK, there's no 6-8 week quarter system or semester system. So freshmen new members are initiated prior to ever receiving any college grades. Granted, there may be a chapter here and there that delays initiation until after a quarter or semester is completed...and maybe someone on GC can comment on that.
The only grade requirement I'm aware of is that pertaining to eligibility for recruitment.
