Houston radio station slams sororities
Please feel free to let them know how you feel about this:
On Monday, August 1, 2011, the Roula and Ryan Show said "being in a sorority means you are perceived to be a slut" And that all sorority women are "Blond, Busty and Brainless." They used "slut" and sorority in conjuction with one another at least 3 separate times. If you don't listen that's fine, but please know that PNM's and their mother's do. With 1.2 million people in the Houston area listening, KRBE Radio is a top tier station for women 18 to 54 years of age. Please contact them to let them know that this is unacceptable. Their boss, Leslie Whittle had this to say "...I think we gave potential rushees valuable insight into what they can expect during the process. Not all of it was pretty, but it came from people who had witnessed or been through the process...I think we did a good job covering all sides of an interesting subject." None of the callers who were negative stated what sororities they were members of - which leads us to wonder if these women are actual members of npc groups.
Please contact her and her boss, Jan Jefferies and let them know that you disagree. What was presented was biased, degrading and offensive. At no time would they be allowed to go on the air and state that any ethnic or racial group was all perceived as sluts or that they were all brainless, so why is it okay for a top rated radio morning show to say that sorority women are?
You may contact Leslie Whittle at (leslie.whittle@cumulus.com) and Jan Jefferies (this is a man at jan.jefferies@cumulus.com). You may also post on the stations facebook page (however they may delete or hide your post). The page is 104.1 KRBE. And of course you may e-mail the website at morningshow@104krbe.com. Or even make your voices heard at 713-278-VENT.
