When I was at USC in the early 90's we wore our letters often--be it sweatshirts or party t-shirts and almost all the sororities had backpacks with their letters on them.

But I've been on campus lately and noticed no one in letters at all.

Also, around L.A. in general when I was in college you'd see letters, but not anymore--nowhere do I ever see anyone in party t's or sweatshirts--not even the gym.
