I'd hate to go to the university as a Junior and not really get to enjoy the greek life, (assuming that I make it). Is it up to the fraternity or is it some defined rule that prohibits students from the local CC to pledge at the university?
I'll assume you mean NIC (non-NALFO) groups. Many (if not all) NIC fraternities require you to be an enrolled student at the school the chapter is located at in order to join. I know my organization and the others on my campus require it, so I can't speak for every NIC group, but it would be a safe bet to say all of them require it.
