UAMomma, we had this happen when I was an active, although not at Alabama. I am trying to remember the situation...I believe that the girl was in her sister's wedding, which had been scheduled since before the rush schedule was released (and the rush schedule ended up being moved a week later that year). Panhel had no problem with her leaving early. I seem to remember that she was considered a "hot" PNM anyway....stellar grades from a nationally known school, a new member of a major campus sports team, and all that. Also I believe she was a legacy for us. So we matched her with some very wise senior actives for the first two rounds, and then they got enough of a feel for her that she made our bid list no problem. But she ended up going with the sorority that had lots of members from her sports team...not surprising. So I guess the moral of the story is that if your girl is a "hot" PNM who has some connections in the houses anyway, then it isn't inconceivable that they would give her lots of special consideration.
