I'm not sure I would call that "technology" At the time it appeared as a bad coverup. That whole season was funny to me because it was public knowledge that she was pregnant. So I spent more time laughing at all the ways they attempted to hide it--grocery bags, flowers, a huge teddy bear, and yes the "she appears to be sinking into the mattress" cut out in the bed.
