I'm going to say that hand sign is a chapter thing...well at least it is done differently by the girls here. I always thought a hand sign was a nation wide type of deal, but maybe not with some groups. Or now that I think about the girls here use their hands and mouth (ok thats not as inappropriate as it sounds I swear!!!) but it is really really cute as long as they don't get it backwards lol.
