I've seen her in concert. She's awesome but her authenticity was ALWAYS questioned--going back to her days as a college beauty queen. People who are looking for a "different kind of artist" have really found an actress and borderline attention whore in Badu. India.Arie is more understatedly "different" than she is--but EVERY "different" person is just like every other "different" person.
Not so "different" afterall.
And, for the record, Maxwell's "afro" wasn't real. It was a weave. So, he didn't really CUT his hair the way it is now.
