Even though he was a member of the same Fraternity as I, he was considered divisive amongst a lot of our brothers. I didn't like his politics and especially his Iraq stance but am sorry he passed away. Especially due to a medical error in surgery.
I also feel sorry for the surgeon who will probably be sued by his estate.
