Cinderella: This house was very high energy and the first girl I talked to had the same name as me, but there were points in the conversation that felt fake and forced to the point where i literally could not think of anything to keep it going, and when another girl came over, the two of them talked to each other more than to me. I was impressed by the number of activities these girls do though.
Belle: This house was one of my favorites from what I had learned first semester, and first round was also a blast! The girls were really sweet and friendly, and their energy really helped make it fun This is definitely one of my favorites!
Ariel: This house was my absolute favorite going in to the day, and first round didn't disappoint. All of the girls seemed very genuinely friendly and I got to ask them about their chapter activities and sisterhood events which they seemed very excited to talk about. The time went so quickly at this house!
Sleeping Beauty: This house has the reputation of being the awkward house, and i kind of got that vibe last semester, but the girl i talked to was very nice, though a little bit shy. I was doubled up with another girl and I feel like we ended up talking more to each other than to the sister, but the conversation felt relatively relaxed.
Pocahontas: This house really surprised me. I hadn't been extremely interested before, but their sisterhood presentation was awesome and the conversation I had was like one I would have with a really good friend. The girls I talked to seemed very interested in what I was saying, and I found a lot in common with these girls. I really could see myself becoming friends with these girls, and I left loving the house.
Jasmine: This house was just okay for me. I had some decent conversations, but they kept moving us between rooms and bumping quite a bit, so I didn't really stay in any one place with any one girl for long. I ended up talking about my home state more than anything else, but maybe I was just tired since it was my last round of the day.
Nala: I. Loved. This. House. The girls I talked to were so nice and sociable, and we got to talk about tv shows and classes and majors but in a rally natural and exciting way. There was not a single dull moment of conversation, and their presentation really showed their strong sisterhood. I did not want to leave this house!
Alice: I didn't like this house as much as I thought I would. I know a couple girls in this house who are really nice, but I didn't see any of them. Their sisterhood presentation was really cool and seemed so genuine, but my conversations were very cookie-cutter and forced, and the girl I was matched up with barely let me ask any questions.
Mulan: This house was not nearly as awkward as i expected. The presentation was adorable and the girl who picked me up and I talked about disney (ironic, no?). We had a lot in common and the other girls I met were really nice, though kind of loud, but the conversations weren't quite as good as the first ones. I still wasn't sure if I could see myself in this house.
Esmeralda: This house was one of my favorites before the round, but my conversations were just okay. I think the problem was that their very obvious bumping (every girl used the same phrase) distracted me from the conversation and prolonged the subjects until i was beating them to death. Still, the girls were very nice and I did like this house.
at the end of the day we had to pick 7 we love, and then rank the remaining 3 in order of preference.
Love:

It's really interesting to read how people's perceptions about particular groups change, based on their experiences. I don't read a ton of these stories, but I do enjoy reading when PNMs make positive discoveries about different groups. It's refreshing to hear!
