In Delta Chi men who have not been initiated into another fraternity may become candidates for alumnus initiation. An alumnus initiate is a full member in the fraternity, and we do not now (nor in my knowledge have we ever) had "honorary membership."

Fathers of Delta Chis are natural candidates for the process. My chapter will be initiating a member of our Alumni Board of Trustees in a week. His father and brother are both Delta Chis which is how he became involved in our chapter's ABT. He has been of tremendous service to our chapter and he was very humbled and honored by our invitation. I think that his case is the best example of what an alumnus initiation should be, and I cannot wait to welcome him into the Bond!

ETA: ASTalumna, are you talking about Delta Chi? If you are, you're not very far off - fathers are very easy to initiate. And I've heard wonderfull things about our Behrend Chapter from you and others, its always nice to hear!
