D-R-A-M-A!!! Welcome to the world of catty women. The good news is that it will only bother you if you let it.

If you have not been brought to sisterhood/standards/etc. for this action, I would not worry about getting "kicked out". Do what you can to minimize the drama but be sure to keep your interests (sorority membership) in mind.
