The colorist said she'd do a black tint all over to get my hair back to its original color, and then do highlights. I haven't decided which colors to get, but am thinking about caramel or chestnut highlights. I hope that the colorist will help me decide (and I hope that she knows what she's doing!).

Caramel or chestnut highlights sound tasteful, Newbie. Good luck with your colorist. My biological sister is a colorist and stylist, so I always sport reddish brown hair with copper highlights.
