When I was a new member, I was all about my family tree, mainly because I was really close to my great to the 5th grand big sis, Anna. She made me a lapboard with the whole family tree out to my great to the 7th grand big sis, Paula, who had been president of our chapter for two terms, went on to be a traveling consultant for AOII and has been an international volunteer for many years. I actually met Paula at international convention when I was a sophomore. Anna's big sis, Anna, is really nice, but I never knew her well. Anna was one of my closest friends for the first two years of school before she went to law school at Loyola in N.O. She now has a very coveted job with WestLaw (I don't know if that's spelled right!)Anna's lil sis, Lisa, is awesome. She's a pharmacist in south Louisiana. I got to spend some time with her at our recent 50th anniversary. I really wish she'd had been active when I was....she is so cool. Lisa's lil sis was Stacey who then had Mimi who then had Kelley, non of which I ever knew very well. My grand big sis, Chel was really cool but graduated after my first year. My big sis, Suzette, was such a great big sis, and I really enjoyed the year that she lived in the dorm across the hall from me. In some ways, though, I was an AOII mentor for her. She is a high school science teacher. Suzette's twin, Dana, was in my pledge class...she is such a great leader. She was president our senior year. She just had a little girl three months ago and is TINY. I can't remember what she does for a living. I had three lil sisters. The first (Polly) dropped out after initiation. She was on a softball scholarship and didn't realize how little time she'd have to devote to AOII once the season started. She is now serving her third tour as an officer in the US Army in Iraq. I worry about her. My second lil sis,Laurie, is my closest one. She is one of my best friends and one of the funniest people I know. She is now a bank manager and will get married in November. I'll be one of her bridesmaids! My last little sis, Janelle, was in my Rho Chi group my senior year. She actually did not get a bid (she was a junior who thought her "best friends" would get her into another group), but I pushed to pick her up when one of our new members dropped out on day two for religious reasons (she actually was also in my Rho Chi group incidentally!) Janelle is now a part owner of a fashion boutique in our college town. This didn't surprise me since Janelle always had a distinctive, put together style.
