Nine-year-olds in U.S. plotted to tie up and hurt teacher

I can recall a school (chartered) in my city that condones and still enforces spanking of sorts. Nothing more than a good swat on the back of the hand of bottom with a ruler, but if/when I ever have children I'd send them there.

Public schools would be better if this method were still implemented, but alas, our country is full of people who believe "time-out" is just punishment. I was beat senseless and I think I turned out all right in the long run.
