A Question: Is this how it is suppose to feel?
I know that I have recently posted on this message board. But basically, aside from membership questions. All I want to ask is this:
Did wanting to become a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha make you lose sleep at night? Is it suppose to bring tears to your eyes because you know how bad you want it but you are not supposed to tell anyone (according to others)? Is it something you want more than so many things in life? Is it something you want so you wanted so that you can become a positive example to the society? Was it something you wanted because you have seen so many great women who have earned the honor of wearing those letters? Did you want it because the women you have seen seem to value things that you hold dear? Did you want it because their service to the community is so remarkable and noteworthy?
I am a hard worker. I am already an active member of many organizations on my current campus. I love to help others because it makes me feel better as a person. I respect individuals who try to help others. Sometimes showing a little help can make a huge difference in others lives. I will always remember the woman who had faith in me when I was in elementary school. The woman who told me I could be more than just another statistic. Help from others has helped me become who I am today.
But aside from this question I also have another questions as well:
I want to create a program that will help single parents in our area. I am in the local chapter of NAACP, but I do not know if it would be wise to present this idea to them because they are having a hard time with other tasks. I was planning on making money to start this program by publishing a book of poetry. Currently I have over one hundred pages of typed poetry on my computer, and many others in notebooks. Do you think this would be a good idea, and if so how would I get started?
