Haha! It must have been a male doctor who told her that! Just like the one who told me that labor pains weren't any worse than gas pains and I believed him, until I went through labor.
Childbirth pain beats ovarian cyst pain--take it from a veteran of both, although both are horrific. It's just that you can get an epidural for labor.
