Try to tailor the award to the individual. So you might give a Most Athletic, Most Preppy, Miss Elle (for your chapter fashionista). Does someone live for a show (Grey's Anatomy, etc.?) Turn that into an award - maybe make pageant-type sashes (Miss Preppy, Miss Grey's Anatomy, Miss Dean's List, - any way you can recognize the person for something special/individual) Maybe name an award after each of your founders - were they known for something special? If so, make an award that recognizes that aspect of one of your members. Give a "Pink and Green" award to the most spirited member - a "Spirit of Delta Zeta" or "Top Turtle" award to the member who best embodies Delta Zeta.
Do try to gauge the person's sense of humor. You want them to be pleased with the award and chuckle - not burst into tears.
